Tonight we had an Aprils Fools Day dinner with the DelBello cousins. We had Meatloaf and mashed potato "cupcakes" and vanilla pudding and candy " chicken pot pie" for dessert. They were great sports and loved the meal. Thanks Denise for the fun idea.

Rylee turned 17 yesturday. I can't believe my first born is 17 already and a junior in high school. Time goes by too fast. I am constantly being reminded of how little time i have left with all my kids at home. As sad as that seems to me, I am so proud of the young woman she has become. I am very lucky to be her mom. Rylee went to her 1st school formal dance on Friday. She wore this dress last year for the LDS Formal ( it was a floor length evening). She loved it so much she wasn't quite ready to give it up. So with a few alterations she was able to transform it into this cute party dress. I love recycling. Thank you Stephanie for all your help!

Our favorite stylist Megan did Rylee's hair. With a 3rd of her hair in a ponytail,endless curls with the curling iron and 96 bobby pins, We were able to walk out of the salon an hour and a half later with her hair just the way she had hoped. Thanks Megan!!

The end of October my parents were able to finally get an updated family picture. Three of my siblings and I live near my parents. My sister and her husband were visiting from Virgina and my brother Scott and his family from Utah were able to visit at the same time. I can't believe how quickly our family has grown. My parents started with 6 kids, added 6 in-laws, and 18 grandkids so far. I love that I came from a big family.

Cassidy turned 15 yesturday and got to spend the entire day with her dad at Disneyland. I can't believe she is 15 already and in high school. The time has gone way to fast. She is really enjoying her dance class at school and loves going swing dancing on the weekends. She is definatly the child we need to keep an extra eye on but at the same time has a heart of gold. We are so blessed to be her parents.

She Shoots and Scores!

Camryn had her first Middle school basketball game tonight against Stephens Middle school. Unfortunately we lost(27-34). The good news- Camryn got to sub in twice. She played the last 2+ minutes in each half and scored the last basket of the game. I have to admit I teared up when she made her basket. Camryn plays the same position as the best player on the team( a 3rd year player who is very good) so I wasn't holding my breath that she would get playing time in the first game. Her first time in she seemed a little intimidated and played very cautious. The 2nd time, she came out in true Camryn form with a 1 shot attempt that made a beautiful SWISH sound.
Of course I brought my camera but didn't check the battery. It was dead of course! So no pics of the game. But I did get a few pics at practice yesterday. Here are my favorites.
Running Lines

She usually stays an extra 20 minutes to square off against the assistant coach. She has a lot of fun doing this and gets her more comfortable having much bigger people in her face.

Hudson took off with his buddies as soon as we got to the school. He's getting so independent.

On Labor Day we went to the Jonhsons BBQ/swim party. The kids always love going there because of the waterfall pool. We love going there because of all the people we get to visit with, the great food, and the wonderful backyard. The Jonhsons are the best hosts and we are thankful they include us in their festivities.
Camryn got pretty good at diving off the rocks, Hudson went from diving to doing flips and twists,Devyn did some great jumps, and Peyton put her face in the water. Rylee and Cassidy as always were helpful with the younger kids and had plenty of kids their age to be social with.

As tradition goes, after the pool party we go to Nana and Papas house for homemade ice-cream.

This week I've been working on making Drew a collage of pics for him to have at work. I finally found a frame that had 7 openings in it. Some of my favorite pics weren't the direction I needed, so with a few grumbling children in tow, I started snapping away with the camara. I think he'll be happy with how it turned out. Peyton finally made it to Chuckie Cheese for her Birthday dinner! She has been telling us she wants to go to Chuckie Cheese almost daily since September. I honestly thought it would be one of those things that didn't live up to the hype. She just thought it was ok when we went the last time. Boy was I WRONG!

Manners, manners, manners!!!! Sometimes we just need to have fun! Which brings us to our Family Home Evening No Hands dinner. The kids with their cousins had so much fun last time that Amy-Sue and I decided to do it again. There is only 1 rule...No hands!The meal comes in 3 courses; Bread and salad, spaghetti, then ice-cream. There are also no dishes or eating utensils. Water only comes by having it poured in your mouth by a pitcher (like a baby bird). The best part is the clean-up. Just throw away the plastic tablecloth after each course.

Anybody want to come next time?????

Giving time today, to make life better tomorrow

A couple weekends ago our family had the opportunity to give our time, money and physical ability to support two worthy causes.
On Friday we participated in the Mormon Helping Hands Project Pantry. We spent the evening collecting food from the neighborhood to replenish the local food banks. The kids spent about two hours going door to door asking for donations. They really enjoyed seeing their efforts pay off by collecting 14 bags of food. Their efforts along with the entire stake totaled just under 10 tons of food.

This event will definatly become an annual tradition for our family.We are gratful to all those who have donated to help save so many lives.

I love this picture because this is Mother's Day to me. The picture of the fairy tale perfect mother's day went out the window years ago. You know the one with breakfast in bed after sleeping in, the perfectly clean house, the kids wearing color coordinated clothes with hair nicely settled on their head, kids playing a board game in the middle of the living room without any discord, the kids serenading you with beautiful harmonizing voices, a beautiful picture taken with your kids Etc. etc. etc. This is not my kind of Mother's Day. Sleeping in doesn't happen with 9:00am church but I do get my husband home in the morning because meetings are cancelled. The perfectly clean house will probably never happen but the dishes were done. The coordinated clothes I like, but I'm really just thrilled when they are all dressed in clean (not the prized shirt that must be worn everyday) clothes that they have picked out and put on themselves. Not a sound of contention, come on , I have 6 kids. And the beautiful harmonizing music is Hannah Montana the movie CD being played in the car while the kids see who can sing the loudest.
No, this is not the picture perfect Mothers day that would be in a fairy tale BUT it is MY Mother's Day and that in itself is perfect. I'm so happy that I have these kids that I love so much. I love that they try really hard to make it a nice day for me. I love that my husband will change the diapers that I don't want to change on this day. I love that he will surprise me with a present that I was not expecting. I especially love that my kids will try to put up with my picture taking even when one is having a meltdown and I still insist on taking them.
Drew and I are so thankful that our moms live so close to us. We are so lucky to have them as examples in our lives.

Medieval Times

At the end off April we took Cassidy, Camryn, Hudson, and Sabrina to Medieval Times. Rylee was supposed to go but wasn't feeling well. I found a coupon for 1 kid under 18free per paying adult. Thank you Neil and Meleah for joining us so 2 more of our kids could eat for free.

We were seated in the Red Knight section. We ate dinner and cheered our Knight on as he battled the evil Green Knight.

They did cool horse tricks.

The kids loved eating with their hands.

Hudson caught the flower thrown out by the Red Knight and like a gentleman gave it to his cousin Sabrina. Meleah also caught a flower and gave it to Cassidy.

We all had a great time! By the way, our Red Knight won the battle!

This past weekend our ward combined with the Spanish branch from our building for a Cinco de Mayo fiesta. Everybody had a great time.
The food was muy bueno! Thanks Ximeno branch for the sopas.

There was a fun game of Hot Sombreros.

The YM/YW combined to do a traditional Mexican Polka. I was really proud of how hard they worked.

Who remembers the New Mickey Mouse Club? Not the one with Brittney Spears,Justin Timberlake or Keri Russel. The 1977 New Mousekateers with names like Todd, julie, Kelly, Lisa, Nita, Curtis, and Mindy. I remember arguing off and on for years with my younger sisters about the New Mickey Mouse Club. They always insisted that the one with Brittney and Justin was the new one. But I knew I watched it as a kid. Not only did I watch it, I got their record for my 7th birthday and played with Nita a few times. Even with all that they didn't believe mine was the original New Mickey Mouse Club. There was never any physical proof that I could find. Until Now! Now that I have Learned how to browse on the internet, my case has been proven!

Not only did I find this picture but a petition to get Disny to release a DVD of the episodes. Yeah!!!

I can't believe that 16 years ago we became parents for the first time. Wednesday, February 24 ( exactly 3 weeks early) at 5:26pm.She weighed 7 lbs.15oz. and was 20 in.
In what seems to be just a few short years, she has grown into a beautiful young woman. In honor of the sweet 16, her family would like to list 16 reasons we love her and have some fun with old pictures.

Gian spotted him, Amy stalked him, I intruded on his family night and introduced him to my whole family, Amy took the picture then I took a picture of her family with him. He was very nice about it but I think we may have drawn too much attention to him since he and his family left very quickly afterwards. Thanks Donny for a Picture to remember. By the way, the kids had a great time tonight also.

Thanksgiving 2008

This Thanksgiving we spent with my family. Its been 4 years since we've had Thanksgiving day with my family and I was really looking forward to it. It was a small group this year since Tara and Aaron are in Virgina,Scott and his family are in Utah, and Mike and his family made a trip up to see Scott and Christie. Even though they were missed we had a great time. The kids played all evening and the adults just got to visit. Dinner was great (although pati-sues stuffing was greatly missed)and the table looked beautiful. Thanks Mom!
I got to do a first this year. I was incharge of bringing pie, and usually I would just go and buy it, but instead I learned how to make a homemade apple pie. I've always wanted to learn but did'nt really know anyone who made them. Fortunatly, two of my friends also had to bring pies to their dinners and insisted from scratch was the only way to do it. We all got together on Wednesday evening and baked away. It was really fun and I found out that I'm pretty good at getting the pie crust into the pie plate. It was the yummiest apple pie. I will definately do it again. Thanks Meleah and Melissa.

Hudson gave Drew and I a Thanksgiving gift. He was so excited to give it to us Thanksgiving morning.He gave us the sweetest letter and I have to admit, it made both of us tear up.

On Wednesday Devyn had her Kinder Thanksgiving Feast and program.The kids were dressed as Pilgrims and Indians. They had a feast in the Cafeteria then did songs and poems in the auditorium.
Devyn did such a great job. She had a part in the thanksgiving poem. Her group recited: I am a little Indian

His birthday was actually yesturday but it took till late in the evening to get the picture of him. I'd say he had a typical busy parent birthday. He worked all day, came home to see his birthday signs the kids made all over the wall, quickly had his favorite pizza(Eccos), rushed over for a basketball parents meeting for Camryn, went and visited his Dad at the hospital, came home, got a back rub then fell asleep watching Eli Stone. Not a super exciting birthday but he'll make it up a little playing golf on Friday.

Never have these words been more true in my life than right now. On Thurs. as word was being passed that our ward building was to be protested my first thought was I've got to have my camera for this, Second thought was I hope it's peaceful, third was I hope the kids don't get scared, and fourth (although I hate to admit it) I hope I don't run into someone I know. But as Sat. and Sun. approached my worries of running into someone I knew were gone. I remember as a youth being taught that as a member of the church we are called to stand out not to blend in. To stand up for what we believe in and not follow the crowd. As a teenager I just thought of it as having to living the gospel standards but now I understand that it means stand up and speak out for what is right.

This is about 10:30am when it started.

Here's a few of the signs. The protest stayed peaceful and quiet except for some minor name calling. One of the protesters twisted his ankle while walking and some of our Priesthood went over to make sure he was alright. of course that nice act will never be reported.
This was one of our favorite signs of the day.
And yes it says Mormons: Americas Taliban. This was the first time I had seen this one.
And of course the Long Beach police dept. was stationed at each corner of the church along with some on bikes. Luckily they just got to sit and watch since there were no incidences.
10th ward is always interesting, exciting, and unpredictable.

New hair, new attitude

I finally got my hair done. It's been about 6 months since I've had a haircut and over a year a year since I've had a real change. The past 3 months I've been making exercise more of a priority and trying to eat a lot better. I've really been able to accomplish a lot more even with very little sleep.( thanks to a high-achiving overloaded teenager). I've been able to see a very slow but steady weight-loss but came to a point of just feeeling BLAH. In my eyes the weight-loss is barely noticable, my hair always back in a ponytail, I rarly wear make-up and I'm always in my mom uniform. I desperatly needed a pick me up. I put a new color on my hair and then off to Megan I went for highlights and a fresh new cut. I showed her a picure of how short I was willing to go and a picture of what I thought was to long and let her have free reign of the rest. As expected, I love it. It's just what I needed to get me freshly motivated to keep going with my new habits. It's amazing how a new haircut can really lift you up. Thanks again Megan!

We're Coming Home!

We're packing up and moving home this week. Drew's parents are on their way home from their mission.They should be back sometime Saturday. So we are busy packing up, cleaning,painting,starting school,church activities,daycare kids are back,and getting our house ready to move back into this week. Luckily, Drew was able to take this week off to help move things and help get all the kids to and from school. I'm really glad we took the opportunity to help out Drew's parents while they served but I'm thrilled to be moving back to my own home. It may be quite a bit smaller than my in-laws but I really feel our family is closer and more loving to each other in our smaller house.Some people might think that sounds weird but for us it's true. Here's to a happy but busy week.

A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to Heritage Park. We had so much fun. My mom took me and my siblings there all the time when I was a kid.I hadn't been there with my kids in quite a few years. Watching the kids chase each other through the buildings and down the slides brought back such great memories. I do have to say, it's a lot better now then it was then. It's time to catch up a little bit. We have been living at Drew's parents house while they are serving a mission for the summer at Martins Cove.Tomorrow will mark one month of living there and we will go back to our house sometime during the beginning of September. Postings had been put on hold because all of my pictures have been on my computer at home. I'll try to catch up over the next couple of days. Here's a start.
The kids went to the Morrisons this past weekend and Peyton joined them for the first time. From what I hear things went well although Peyton wouldn't leave Rylees side for long.Here they are leaving. Peyton was all smiles till she realized I wasn't getting in the car too. She recovered quickly.

Saturday Drew had the opportunity to baptize Nekeela. Drew is her grandmas hometeacher and Nekeela had been coming to church with her. She was so excited to see him on Sunday at church and asked if she could sit with him during sacrament. I think he has a new friend.

My sister Tami had her baby shower Saturday morning.

The brownies Tara and I stayed up making Friday night. I love how they turned out!

It's about time for some street wiffleball

This has been the big backyard activity this past week.
Pitching, hitting and being the umpire.

Did you notice the bike helmet being used as the umpire mask? Camryn can probably only see half the pitches but apparently safety comes first for her.

After watching this for a couple days and many balls being hit to neighbors backyard(one by me),I figured it was time to go old school and play some wiffleball in the street.
Living right next to a high school, the kids rarely play in the street. This was a huge treat for them. We made bases in the street. We used the rules I grew up with(modified where needed). You get 5 pitches only( hit one or you're out), fly ball to neighbors grass across the street is an automatic out, ball rolls under car runner advances only one base, and you can peg out (throw the ball at)anyone 15 or over. Most important, if the other team has been up a really long time with only 1 out and Drew hits the ball on the neighbors porch across the street, it is an automatic 2 outs and 1 more when they are up next.
We played for well over 2 hours and had a great time. A few of us were a little sore the next morning.

I can't believe Peyton's two already. Time is flying by with this last one. She must have known she turned two this morning because she started out the morning CRANKY. She perked up during the late morning when Sammy came over and all the kids went out looking for rollie pollies (sp?). Then two tantrums, happy, tantrum, a walk, tantrum, dinner, ice-cream and bed.

I think she introduced herself and us to the Two's perfectly. Drew had a few phone calls from me while he was at work, so he could listen in on the fits going on while I just laughed and gave him a play by play.

For all the whoopla that happend today I do have to say that 95% of the time she is just a lot of fun. She is a danger girl and takes great pleasure in making me worry. Examples; standing on the back of the couch and tipping from side to side, climbing up the slide, swinging from the top of the slide, climbing on top of the counters and so on while calling my name to make sure I am watching her.

She talks very well, counts to twelve, spells her name, loves having family prayer each night, just started saying her own prayers, is really coordinated(sp?), knows which sibling to go to for the best chance to get what she wants, loves to have her picture taken as long as it's not at a studio, is constantly calling people on moms cell phone, gets excited when she gets a new pair of shoes, loves the water and walks over to Aunt Meems (Amy-Sue)if she wants a hershey kiss.

For Rylees' birthday in Feb. we got her Wicked tickets. She has been asking for them for birthdays and christmas' since it came to LA. May 17th finally arrived and off we went with her friend Sierra. The show was amazing. Rylee totally thought it was worth the wait. I will definatly be seeing it a second time and I'm taking Drew with me too. Here are some pics from our day out.

We're So Hip

About a month ago I was browsing through the parks and rec. summer catalog while talking to Amy-sue on the phone. Randomly, I opened the catalog and pointed to a class. I pointed to beginning Belly Dancing. As I read the class description to Amy-Sue I jokingly suggested we take the class. We both had a good laugh at just the thought of what that would look like.
Well long story even longer, I thought Why not take the class. I haven't tried anything new or done something just for me in years. To my excitement, two of my friends signed up also. Thanks Melissa and Melissa.

Tonight was our first class. We had a "good time". I would have loved to say "great time" but she worked my thigh, hip, and stomach muscles to hard for "great". We definitely found muscles that we didn't know about before tonight. It was fun giggling at each other ( the movements are a little unnatural) and giggling at the few very intense students. Question- Why is it that our stomach and chest shake and shimmy freely when we want them to be still, but not as much when it might be helpful with some of the dance moves?

Next week we get to purchase one of these. This wrap will make shimming even more fun.Ha,Ha
I'm glad I decided to try something new and am looking forward to the next four weeks.

I'm really late posting theses pics. A couple of weeks ago a group of us went to the California Utah Womens Boutique. We decide not to attend the luncheon this time and just go to the boutique. As usual in the spring,there were fewer vendors than in the fall but we all were able to find some favorite things.

Rylee and Jessie have come with us to the past couple of luncheons. There are always some girls modeling prom dresses and this year they got to be one of the models. They were so excited. Thanks Meleah for doing their hair and make-up. They looked beautiful!

That evening Drew took Camryn and Hudson to the Dodger game.(No pics of course.) I took the rest of the kids and joined Amy-Sue and Charlee for dinner at Mimi's.

TODAY IS OUR 16TH ANNIVERSARY! I know it's hard for most of you to believe we could be married that long since neither of us look a day over 21, but it's true. If you're still not convinced, here is some proof.

Yes, I am taller than Drew but not as much as in the picture. It rained the night before our wedding and the ground was still muddy(not good when you're wearing slippers)so I had to stand on the tree root.

Yesturday I became 1 year older and hopefully a little wiser too. It was a typical busy day around the Ashcraft home. Drew went to work, the kids went to school, my babysitting kids came over,Drew and the kids all came home, babysitting kids left, Hudson had a 5:00 soccer game, Camryn had a 5:00 baseball game, Cassidy had a cheerleading parent meeting at 6:00 ( thanks pati-sue for filling in for that one), Rylee, Cassidy, and I had YW at 7:00, and Camryn had achievement day at 7:00. We got home at 9:00 to quickly eat some Subway, finish homework, have family prayer, put younger kids to bed, straighten up the house while Rylee finishes her work,get Rylee in bed, take a shower,and quickly write this post.
There definatly wasn't much time for big celebration but it was a wonderful day. Lots of calls from friends and family, text messages and a E-card, flowers from friends, no argueing from the kids, Hudson and Camryn both winning their games,kisses and hugs from my kids,and text messages and calls from my Hun all day long.
I know I have been extremely blessed to have Drew and these 6 healthy kids to keep me so busy. That in its self makes for a great birthday no matter how it's spent.

gifts from 2 of my babysitting kids, Adam and Zoe.and yes that is a bottle of ketchup. They remembered I ran out yesturday making their lunch.Isn't that sweet.

I loved this. Drew had a bottle of my favorite water in the fridge this morning. What a treat! It is not always easy to find but this is the best tasting water. Thanks Hun!

Peyton loves to put these glasses on. One of the kids got these glasses out of the prize box at school. They are about 1/2 an inch thick, so you can't see anything clearly.She puts them on and tries to walk and spin in circles. The kids laugh so hard at her attempts and she just grins from ear to ear.

Peyton usually wakes up in the morning and walks out of her room happy and ready to start her day. Except on this morning. We were very surprised to hear crying ( a very upset cry) coming from the bedroom.I hurried in to see what was wrong. I found a little girl with 2 legs stuck in 1 pant leg trying desperately to stand up and walk out of her room. No wonder she hates it when we put her in footed PJs.

There's No Time like "Tee Time"

Rylee started high school this year and really didn't want to take regular P.E.. She decided she would try to get on the girls golf team.She has had an interest in golf for quite awhile but had never done anything more than go to the driving range with Drew a few times. This past summer she took 2 lessons and practiced with the golf team for 6 weeks and was able to play in this years fall season. She is definatly one of the new kids on the team but held her own quite well during the season. She's hoping with a lot of practice this year she will come into next season with a strong improvement.As with most things she sets out to accomplish, I'm sure she'll do just that. Her lowest score of the season was a 51 on a par 32 course. For only playing 4 months I think that's pretty good considering I can't even hit the ball in the air. PS. Her coach did say she is the first player he's had that has hit a car driving by during tee off.
Rylee is the only left-handed player on the team this year so she never has to worry about clubs being mixed up.

Today is Drews 38th Birthday. We let him sleep in, made pictures for him, made him breakfast, and sang. Hudson and Camryn cleaned their room as a surprise for him then asked if they could be paid for doing such a good job. After Church we went to his parents house for his birthday dinner. His sister and her family was there also to help celebrate. Pati-sue (being the great mom that she is)made his favorites for dinner. Ribs, german potato salad, asparagus, and green salad.

The kids and I got him a Cleveland 60 degree wedge that he had asked for. A special thanks to the nice guy at Rodger Dunn for walking me through the store and finding the club for me.Who knows what I would have come home with on my own.

American Pride

This last Friday,Drew and I took the kids to a ceremony honoring the Veterans of the Greater Long Beach area. It was a touching tribute to the wonderful, giving, and brave men and women who served and are serving in the US military. We heard some amazing stories of bravery, strength, faith, and determination. There was art work by children in the area and memorabilia displayed, Patriotic music, civic leaders, a keynote speaker, and a reception. I'm really glad the kids got to hear and see what Veterans Day means instead of it just being a day off of school.

WE are very proud to recognize our Fathers as Veterans of the United States Military. My dad, David Hardey, served in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic in the 101st airborn division during the Vietnam War. He served from 1968-1971. Drews dad, Bob Ashcraft, served in the United States Navy as a medic during the Korean War. He served from Jan. 1951 - Nov. 1954. Truely, a force to be reckoned with.

I just love halloween.I love decorating the house, the costumes, and the spooky stories that go along with halloween. As for the halloween night rush to get homework done, get costumes on, make-up done, eat, trick-or-treat, get home, and try to get kids in bed at a reasonable time because there's school in the morning, is not the highlight for me. Anyways, spending the evening watching the kids have so much fun makes it almost worth it.
Devyn quit pretty early on. How many scary costumes does it take to make a 4 year old stop asking for candy? Answer 3. She went back with Drew to Nana and Papas to hide in the corner. She sure was a cute Miney Mouse though.

Peyton LOVED trick-or-treating. She walked to almost every house and left each doorstep with a "BYE" and blowing a kiss. We call her monkey girl so this costume was perfect for her.

Rylee (like me) loves to dress up for halloween. She had fun walking Peyton and Tabitha to the houses. She definatly is a lot of help.

Cassidy, Hudson and Camryn the spookiest spooks around. I got to do their make-up and think they turned out pretty well. Especially since I can bearly draw a stick figure. Camryn looked great as she glided across the sidewalk on her heelys. She looked like she was floating.

Then of coarse there's us.

We were greeted at the door by this fun gorilla. The kids favorite costume of the night. They giggled for quite a few houses after that surprise.

Thunder and Lightening Strike the Ashcraft Home

We were deeply saddened this past week due to the lose of Linus ( our pet tortoise). He had been sick for quite awhile but actually lived longer than we expected. The kids ,especially Camryn, are really going to miss him.
We really loved having a tortoise for a pet and hoped we might be able to find another one. Due to the fact that they are only born between Sept. and Oct. and usually have a waiting list, we were doubtful we would find one this year.
Fortunately, we got very lucky and not only found one but two Sulcata Tortoises (AKA African Spurred Tortoise). They are more durable than the Cal. Desert Tortoise Linus was. They are four weeks old right now and can live up to 100 years. Camryn and Hudson have already called dibs on them .
During family home evening last night, we had a family vote to decide their names. After a lot of deliberation and voting to eliminate the runner-ups, they were named Lightening and Thunder by a 5-2 vote. The runner-up names were King and Kong, Sparky and Scout, and my favorite Frank and Beans.
Here are some pictures to show you how small they are right now. It's hard to believe they can get up to three feet in diameter.

They have to live indoors the first 2 years. They have a large 50x18 inch aquarium that we keep at 90-100 degrees. They do enjoy going on a field trip with Camryn to the front yard for their 20-30 minutes of sunlight each day.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Camryn asked at the beginning of the summer if she could cut her hair short like her cousin Sabrina. She was tired of long hair and all the brushing it involved. Rylee has been growing her hair out to donate to Locks of Love for a second time. When Camryn said she wanted to cut it, we thought she might also have enough to donate.(10 inches is the min. length accepted). I measured her hair and 10 inches would have put her hair at about her ears. A little shorter than she wanted. Rylee and I talked to her about what Locks of Love was and how they make wigs for kids who have lost their hair from cancer. I told her if she wanted to wait 'till the end of summer, her hair might be long enough to donate and still be the length she wanted. She was excited to donate and looked forward to it all summer. The day finally came and I took her to Cool Cuts 4 Kids. They do the paperwork and send off the hair for you. So much easier than doing it myself like I did with Rylee. I just love to take pictures!It is my creative outlet.I just wish I was as good about putting them in a scrapebook. But, ever since I let my camara fly out the window of the car, on our way to Taras wedding reception,I've been a little on edge.Well,Sat.we bought a new camara.YEA! After doing my research,we decided to go with the Fuji S700.I LOVE IT! Of course as soon as we walked in the door I had it opened,batteries in,and back out the door to try all the different settings.Here are some of my favorite pictures of the day.p.s.in case you can't tell, my favorite pictures to take are of expressions ( happy,sad,silly,angry,etc.)

I can't believe Drew and I have been married for over 15 years now.We were married April 18,1992 in the Los Angeles Temple.We have been very lucky to have stayed here in Long Beach all 15 years of our marriage.

We both grew up here in L.B..Drew graduating from Millikan High School and myself graduating from Lakewood High School(rival schools).We both attended church at the same building but different wards for a while as teens.We had some mutual friends(and he dated a couple of my friends) as teenagers but no interest in each other.He probably didn't even know my name.I was much quieter back then and he was one of the more popular boys.

Drew served a mission for our church from 1989-1991.He served in the Michigan,Detriot Mission.While he was on his mission,I grew up and he noticed when he came home.It only took a couple of months of him being home from his mission to ask me out and the rest is history.

I had high hopes for Drew as a husband and father when we got married.I am so lucky he not only has met them,he has surpassed them in many ways.He works very hard at his job to provide for us.Which allows me the wonderful blessing of staying home with our kids.He currently is working for Advanced Engine Management(AEM)as a Distribution Manager.He really enjoys his job and the people he works with.

He is a great dad.The kids love him so much.He's been keeping busy being an assistant soccer coach,scorekeeper for little league baseball,and attending golf matches when ever possible.He gives the baths,does the laundry,and tucks the kids in at night.He truly enjoys being with them.

After 2 ACL surgeries, his basketball and volleyball days are behind him.His recovery is moving along well but slowly.He still enjoys playing softball and is taking advantage of the slower pace by working on his golf game and participating in a charity golf tournament.
My life definatly "sparkles" brighter because of the man,husband,and father he is.He's my best friend and I love him so much.
